Portable Davit Access Systems
Portable davit access systems are available in either galvanized steel ground rigged or aluminium roof rigged format. Cento portable davit access systems are designed to suspend a one person or two person powered and manual cradle in accordance with BS 6037 and BS EN 1808.
Receiver sockets are mounted to the roof structure inbound of the parapet line and positioned at 2-3 metre intervals dependent on the cradle type being used. A single davit or pair of davits can be located in each receiver socket above the facade to be accessed; the maximum davit outreach is 1800mm from the centre of the receiver socket to the point of cradle suspension.
It is essential that safe designated areas are provided to ensure good access to the davit suspension point for rigging. It is also important that provision is made for transporting the cradle between rigging points at roof or ground level.
